A milkshake - yes please!

The idea behind a milkshake is to juggle a number of ingredients: milk of course, fruit if you like, a splash of water, sugar and ice cubes. But naturally we like to add plants to create an original hibiscus milkshake...

Shake it up with this Les 2 Marmottes recipe

The marmot milkshake features...you guessed it... plants!

The pretty red hibiscus flower is as beautiful to look at as it is to taste in tea, and at the burrow we love its tangy notes.

Don't know what rosehip is? It's the fruit (or faux-fruit, technically, so say our brewmasters) of the rosehip. the wild rose. Delicious in herbal tea and as hip as it's name!

Blending these two plants creates a drink with a summery feel, but you can enjoy it all year round if you have a bag of hibiscus herbal tea to hand. To make Les 2 Marmottes milkshake, you'll need...

  1. a blender
  2. one Hibiscus rosehip teabag.
  3. 700 ml water
  4. 750 ml milk (plant-based or other)
  5. a teaspoon of cane sugar
  6. a few ice cubes
  7. a lot of love.

Time for a tasTEA shake!

To make our milkshake in no time at all, start by infusing our Hibiscus Rosehip teabag in water (5 minutes at 100°C).

Set aside in a cool place.

Once the temperature has dropped, place all the ingredients in your blender, press the "on" button and you're ready to go.

Serve in a tall glass with a pretty cardboard straw (plastic is so not fantastic).

Our Marmot's tip: if you're not a fan of lactose, you can replace the milk with almond milk or another plant-based milk. We've developed our Clever Cocoa blend for people who don't like milk, so we promise we won't hold it against you!

Fancy some fruit? That works too!

Are you keen on seasonal fruit? To spice up your creamy, subtly flavoured Hibiscus-Rosehip milkshake, there's nothing like a few fresh raspberries.

They 'll add colour and pizzazz to our recipe. Feel free to keep the juiciest raspberry to one side to decorate your glass.

Fancy trying another plant-based drink? This way for alcohol-free, colourful cocktails!!
