From farm to fork (well cup actually)!

Many of you are interested in how our infusions and teas are made, so we've decided to tell you the story of mint... Or how Les 2 Marmottes selects and blends the best parts of plants to create excellent natural recipes for you, with no added flavourings.

1. Shhh, it's growing...

Peppermint grows happily in France, with our organic producer. Just after they're harvested, the small, fragrant leaves are gently dried using a low-temperature dryer.

2. It's in the bag!

Once dried, the mint leaves are put into large 20 or 25 kg bags. And off they go to Les 2 Marmottes in the Northern French Alps

3. Mandatory quarantine

As soon as the dried (not cut) mint is received by our brewmasters, it is quarantined. Samples are taken and sent to the laboratory for analysis.

4. Over to the experts

In the laboratory, peppermint is put under the microscope. We look at the plant from every angle to make sure it's in tip-top shape. If the mint sample shows no anomalies, then the adventure continues!

5. It's made the cut!

Once the laboratory has given the go-ahead, the mint leaves are put through their paces in our cutting machine. Our brewmasters are never far away: cutting the plants is a key step in making quality herbal teas.

6. Full steam ahead

Before they are blended and land in your sachet, all our plants are "sterilised" by us; in other words, they are vacuum-packed and injected with dry steam (with zero chemicals) for 30 to 45 minutes at 73°C.

7. It's all in the mix

That's it, our pretty peppermint is ready to be blended. Our brewmasters draw from the various bags of dried and cut plants to create an original recipe. A little peppermint, a few sweet mint leaves, some verbena and it's done.

8. Let's try it!

We wouldn't let our teas leave the workshop without tasting them. A sample is then taken, brewed and tasted both hot and cold depending on the recipe.

9. Final test

The blend is ready, the recipe is good, the sachets are filled, but... we still have to wait for the microbiological analysis results before we can put them in the box.

10. Boxing

Good news! The sample meets the specifications and the analyses are good. Boxing can begin! This takes place in a pressurised room in our Bons en Chablais workshop, where humidity and temperature are constantly monitored. (We love to pamper your herbal teas!)

11. Order & brew

All the boxes are stored in our warehouse in the Alps region of Haute-Savoie (which creates a pretty multicoloured wall, by the way) before being shipped straight to you.
